The deadline to enter photos is Friday, September 15 at 5 p.m.
Who may enter
The photo contest for the Littleton Calendar is open to everyone. Each photographer may enter up to five (5) photographs, but only one (1) photograph may win. Photographers may only submit their own photographs. There is no fee to enter the contest.
How to enter
The Littleton Calendar Photo Contest has gone paperless! All images can be submitted online using the online entry form at the bottom of this page.
Only horizontal images taken within, or associated with, the City of Littleton will be considered. Check the address to be sure the photo was taken within the city limits. Many areas have a Littleton mailing address, but are not in the city limits. There are no categories, but seasonal, event, or holiday-themed photos are encouraged.
Because the photo contest is paperless, all images must be digital but need not have been shot with a digital camera. Scans of negatives or prints are acceptable as long as the quality and size are acceptable. Entries must be 20 megabytes or smaller, highest-quality JPG format, and at least 9″ x 12″ at 300 dpi, or 2700 x 3600 pixels.
All photos must be renamed before submitting. Original (camera) filenames are not acceptable. Filenames must contain the photographer’s name, image number (1 through 5) and location or short description. Rename all images before submitting as follows: lastname-firstname_image#_description (example: “smith-robert_3_museum-barn.jpg”) Make sure the description matches the photo.
The entry form includes a description field for the photos. Describe the entries carefully, including the filename (see naming requirements above) and the Littleton location where the photo was taken.
Judging will take place the week following the submission deadline. Members of the city’s Fine Arts Board will judge the photographs and choose 13 winners — one for each month and one for the calendar cover.
Winners receive $25 cash, 10 calendars and publicity via news releases and distribution of 15,000 calendars. Winners will be notified by phone and/or email after judging has been completed.
Photo release terms
Photographers will be asked to accept a Permanent Photo Release before their entry can be submitted. All images must be released for reproduction in the calendar and future publications. Photographers maintain personal rights to their photograph; the city is not licensed to release the image to a third party. A model release form is not required. Permanent Photo License
